The cancer

Slowly but surely
this cancer is killing humanity
The cancer called stress
is nothing but dangerous
The mindless pursuit of money
leaves people lifeless
The eternal deadlines and politics of oneupmanship
sap the soul dry of vigor
To serve the society
is no longer the aim
To fill their coffers
they loot the laymen of their daily bread
Pink slips galore in this heartless society
making mockery of man's life
To retain one's job
one loses his soul
For saving the job
is a higher aim it seems
I choose to not take part
in this struggle to show others down
I won't survive
by killing others
Even if it means
that I am dead by end of day
